He’s the MVP of the NBA right now for a reason! Of course this is a commercial, but these statements describe the attitude it takes not only to win, but to continue to grow and strive to be the best you that you can be.

It’s a new workout, every day.
It’s physical, every day.
It’s the fourth quarter, every day.
So I gotta get stronger, every day.

Part of the reason I love this commercial is that it shows him practicing, not his game highlights. The best aren’t the best because they only bring it during the games. They’re the best because they work the hardest, practice and do the grind when no one is watching, and live with the fourth quarter sense of urgency every day.

The great motivational speaker Tony Robbins said, “People are rewarded in public for what they practice for years in private.” Do you have this attitude? Are you really trying to be a better person, a better teammate, a better educator, every day?

  1. Well said Andy. Short, sweet, and powerful. When it comes to kids, we have to bring it with a sense of urgency every day.
