We’re All Wonders #30SecondBookTalk

This year, I started the school year by reading this amazing book by R. J. Palacio to our staff and then to all of the students in their classrooms. I love the line, “I can’t change the way I look, but maybe, just maybe, people can change the way they see.” So good. We are what we are. I have a sign outside my office that tells everyone to “BE YOU” because it is so important to be proud of what makes you unique and special. I have a fundamental belief that our kids are not broke and don’t need to be fixed. They may need help to maximize their potential and may be challenging to us at times, but they are all born as wonders and should be treated that way.  Check out my #30SecondBookTalk to promote this book for my students to reread on their own.
